In January 2017 Northern Beaches band Tamam Shud spearheaded a fund-raising campaign aimed at assisting the completion of a school library for Dong Dan primary school in Xiengkhoaung Province, Laos. The night was a great success and our target was reached.

Our donation was delivered to the Phonsinuan Volunteer Group (PVG) under the supervision of our Lao partner and NGO, Saoban. We will be supplied with financial and progress reports and Soaban will have access to all financial transactions on our behalf.

The construction of the mud house library is well underway and is due to be opened 1st June 2017 which is Lao National Children’s Day.

In September 2017 the first follow up to monitor, evaluate and assist with the library functions will be undertaken by (PVG).  Saoban and I will be part of this visit and I look forward to seeing the results of our fundraising.

Thank you once again to the guys from Tamam Shud.
